Game Highlights

  Salem closed out the regular Western Lakes  season with a 8-6 victory at W.L. Western. Dave Russell earned his first win of the season in relief of starter Dave Hales. Sam Ott picked up his third save of the season with a scoreless 7th.

 

 Salem scored 5 runs in the third when catcher Dave Loos lead off with a single, Justin Horger followed with a double. Kyle Powell singled to drive in one,and Sam Ott followed with another RBI single. Joe Posler walked. Then Drew Grabowski drove a 3 run double up the gap to make the score 5-1. Western fought back to tie the score, but the rocks answered back with 3 more runs in the 5th. Chris Kordick and Justin Bashi lead off the 5th with singles, Bashi scored on a throwing error, Heath Parling drove in the second run of the inning with a double, and Kyle Powell plated Parling with a RBI single.

 

 Salem improves their record overall at 19-9, 7-3 in the Lakes Division,and 12-4 in the Wester Lakes. The Rocks will host Northville in the conference championship game at 4pm, on 5-21-08.

Game Highlights

 

 

 Salem lost the Western Lakes confrence championship game 11-2 to Northville. Northville jumped on starting pitcher Joe Posler for 7 runs to hand Posler his first loss of the season. Salem's only runs came in the second inning on a 2 run double by Justin Horger. The Rocks simpley lost to a better team.

Game Highlights

 

Despite some poor fielding starting pitcher Dave Hales persevered , went the distance and earned his 4th win of the season 8-6, to take the first game of the Eagle Invitational. Hales struckout 5, walked 2 and all the runs were unearned. However Salem was great on offence,executing their bunting game to perfection to help Sam Ott, Drew Grawbowski, Justin Horger and Heath Parling drive in runs for the Rocks.

Game Highlights

 

 

 The Rocks rolled over Novi 10-0 to Take the Eagle Invitational Championship! Salem was lead on the Mound as Chris Kordick faced only 15 batters,allowed only 1 hit to pick up his 5th win of the season. The Rocks were lead at the plate by Kyle Powell, Powell had a bases loaded double, a triple, and 4 RBI's. Sam Ott had 2 RBI's, and Heath Parling, Justin Horger and Joe Posler all chipped in with 1 RBI each. Salem won the for  4th time in the 8 year history of the tournament . The Rocks improve their record to 21-10 for the largest one year turn around in Salem History.

Game Highlights

 

 Salem ended the 2008 regular season with a 10-5 victory over Southgate Anderson.Salem used 6 pitchers,Joe Posler,Dave Hales, Chris Kordick, Justin Horger,Heath Parling, and Sam Ott in tune up outtings in preperation of the district this weekend. Horger was the pitcher of record to earn his 5th win of the season. The Rocks were hot on offence as well, banging out 13 hits. Sam Ott and Drew Grabowski lead Salem with 3 hits each. Heath Parling had 2 hits, 3 runs scored and 3 stolen bases. Second Baseman Kyle Powell chipped in with a 2 run homer and Third Baseman Justin Bashi doubled in another run. Salem improved their record to 22-10 over all, a very good season. The Rocks are looking forward to Saturday when they will play Stevenson at 12pm. The winner of the Salem vs Stevenson will play the winner of Canton vs Plymouth, should be lots of fun!! All games are at the beautiful Salem Field!
